My name is Paul Shilliam and I would describe myself as a "Non Professional" photographer, that is to say I do not
earn a living from taking photographs. That does not mean I
cannot take a quality photograph !
The benefit for me is that I have complete photographic license, every photograph
I take is of my own choosing for my own reasons and on any subject that takes my fancy.
I am very fortunate nobody else calls the shots apart
from myself.
I live in the UK in a small hamlet near Heathfield in East Sussex, my home is a period cottage set in the heart of the English countryside.
My first love is wildlife photography, I also enjoy travel photography and in both subjects I have been quite successful.
I do not usually sell my photographs but if there is a good reason or good purpose that one of my photographs is wanted, I would give it consideration. Just contact me.
I have been successful in obtaining all three photographic distinctions with the Royal Photogra[phic Society. The LRPS distinction was of general photography and the ARPS distinction was in Travel photography. My last distinction was the "Fellowship" distinction and is photography at the highest level, this distinction is based on a genre of Natural History and proved to be a challenge of huge proportions.
When I am travelling I normally take with me two bodies, a Canon 3R and a Canon 5R. - Mirrorless is the way forward for wildlife photography it's like changing from film to digital, the benifits are so many.
